Research interests

My research focuses on perch and invasive Gobiids as model organisms, analysing population dynamics, growth, predator-prey relationships, feeding, behaviour, morphometrics and other ecological characteristics in order to understand their impact on fish communities in the River Rhine and surrounding waters. In addition, we are engaged in management and research on migratory fishes in North-Rhine-Westphalia and actually monitor the impact of technically improved hydroelectric plants on the downstream migration of salmon smolts and silver eel.
